SLEIMPN - Latin American Congress on Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Neonatal Screening

Dear Colleague, On behalf of the Organizing Committee and myself, it is an honor to extend a cordial invitation for you to participate in the XIV Congress of the Latin American Society for Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening (SLEIMPN) and the XII International Congress of the International Society for Neonatal Screening (ISNS), which will take place from November 9 to 12, 2026, in the city of San José, Costa Rica. Under the motto “Closing Gaps, Planning the Future,” this congress will bring together leading specialists, researchers, healthcare professionals, laboratories, academics, and international organizations committed to advancing newborn screening and the comprehensive management of inborn errors of metabolism. Over the course of four days, the scientific program will feature keynote lectures, plenary sessions, symposia, oral presentations, and academic discussion forums focused on highly relevant and current topics, including: • New diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for inborn errors of metabolism. • Advances in genetics, neurogenetics, and artificial intelligence applied to newborn screening. • Integration of biochemical and molecular tools. • Challenges and opportunities for newborn screening programs in Latin America. • Clinical management, transition, and long-term follow-up of patients throughout the life cycle. In addition, this international meeting will provide an invaluable opportunity to strengthen collaborative networks, share regional experiences, and promote initiatives that contribute to improving early diagnosis and the quality of life of patients and their families.
